Aerial silk, også kaldet Tissue, er ligesom aerial hoop kendt fra cirkusverdenen. Silken er hængt fra loftet og er ofte lidt længere end gulvet og delt i to silkestykker, så man kan lave akrobatiske bevægelser og øvelser. I aerial silk kombinerer man ofte øvelser som klatring, indbinding, drops og swings. Aerial silk luftakrobater klatrer i silken uden sikkerhedsline og bruger kun sin styrke til at holde sig oppe i silken. I forskellige drops og positioner i silken, kan man godt vride huden, og derfor vil det ofte være anbefalelsesværdigt at have lange bukser på.
Når man træner aerial silk bliver man bomstærk, da man bruger sine skuldre og arme rigtig meget for at kunne komme og lave tricks i silken. Man kan dog stadig starte op uden den store styrke, da den vil blive opbygget stille og roligt.

Der er ikke meget historie omkring aerial silk, men første gang det er set, var på en fransk cirkusskole, hvor eleverne blev bedt om at være kreative med nye former for performance redskaber, hvor en elev fandt på at anvende en silkesnor til sine kunster.

Hos Pole Republic er et silk-hold sat sammen af elever på flere forskellige niveauer. Alle kan være med, det kræver bare ihærdighed, et åbent sind og motivation. Hver enkelt øvelse bliver tilpasset hver enkelt elev, så alle kan være med. Vi lægger stor vægt på sikkerhed, så derfor bruger vi crashmats til nybegyndere.
Aerial silk er en ny sport i Danmark og vores underviser er derfor selvlært, men super dygtig! Du bliver stærk, mere modig, meget glad og mere smidig af at træne aerial silk. Ofte vil man også kunne overkomme nogle psykiske begrænsninger hos sig selv, da man nogle gange skal lave drops og fald fra silken, som virkelig giver dig et adrenalin-sus.

what is aerial silk?

Aerial silk, also called Tissue, is like the aerial hoop known from the circus world. The silk is hung from the ceiling and is often a bit longer than the floor and divided into two silk pieces to make acrobatic movements and exercises. In aerial silk you often combine exercises like climbing, binding, drops and swings. Aerial silk performers climb the silk without safety line and use only their strength to stay up in the silk. In different drops and positions in the silk, you will twist the skin, so it will often be advisable to wear long pants.
When you work on aerial silk, you get strong as you use your shoulders and arms very much to do tricks in the silk. However, one can still start up without the great strength as it will be built up quickly.

There is not much history about aerial silk, but the first time it was seen, was at a French circus school where the students were asked to be creative with new forms of performance equipment’s where a student used a silk for his performance.

At the Pole Republic, the aerial silk lesson is put together by students on several different levels. Everyone can join, it only requires tenacity, an open mind and motivation. Each exercise is adapted to each student, so everyone can join. We find your safety important, so we use crashmats for beginners.
Aerial silk is a new sport in Denmark and our teacher is therefore self-taught, but super skilled! You become stronger, braver, very happy and more flexible when training aerial silk. Often, you will also be able to overcome some mental limitations, as you sometimes have to make drops and drops from the silk, which really gives you an adrenaline rush.
